I too am studying History. Kind of a retirement gift to myself. As it happens, my local university offers free tuition for seniors (over 60), so I’m taking advantage and giving myself something I feel I denied myself…hopefully I can use it to write and research, perhaps right here on Substack!

That is wonderful to hear! I’m about 9 years away from retirement myself, and to be honest, I can't wait! It seems we are both living proof of Solon's 'I grow old always learning.' Studying what we once denied ourselves is a special kind of justice. I look forward to seeing your research and writing here on Substack—please do keep me posted!

A gift indeed. I couldn't have said it better. Thank you!

I did an MA in Education, Policy and Practice aged 46, and it truly was the best gift ever! I decided it was better than buying a new car! 😂💛

My car, watching me miss its scheduled services so I can pay my tuition, knows exactly what you're saying! :P

Lifelong Learning is quickly becoming a way to survive. Limiting learning to the first years of life feels like a way to stay attached to the habits that the Industrial Revolution taught us. I'm happy for your amazing growth and I'd be happy if you considered recommending my stack to your subscribers!

So many opening paths and projects going on! Love it. I can guess how crazy it is to do so many things at the same time, but gratifying, too. Congratulations 👏

Congratulations! There is indeed no age limit to learning and exploring new ideas and cultures, just curiosity and a passion to learn!
